1. What is the AutoTick Test Generator?

AutoTick is an automatic marking tool for multiple-choice tests. It allows teachers to generate a ready-to-use Answer Portal from their existing test's answer key.

Simply enter your test title, marking passcode, number of questions and answer key. AutoTick will generate and download an HTML Answer Portal that can automatically mark students' answers and display their results.

2. Do I need any special software?

No. You only need a modern web browser, such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, to access AutoTick and generate your Answer Portal.

Teachers can generate answer sheets using a computer, laptop, tablet or supported smartphone.

Students can complete the downloaded Answer Portal using a compatible web browser.

3. Does AutoTick work on Windows and Mac?

Yes. AutoTick works on Windows and Mac computers using modern web browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

4. Can I use AutoTick on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Teachers can access AutoTick on supported smartphones and tablets. Students can also complete tests using their mobile devices.

For iPhone and iPad users:

1. Download or receive the AutoTick Answer Portal HTML file.

2. Open the file using the Files app or locate it in Safari's Downloads.

3. Tap the Share ↑ button.

4. Select Microsoft Edge to open the Answer Portal.

5. Complete the test in Microsoft Edge.

An instruction message will appear automatically when the Answer Portal is first opened on an iPhone or iPad.

For Android users:

1. Download or receive the AutoTick Answer Portal HTML file.

2. Locate the file in your Downloads folder.

3. Open it using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, if supported by your device.

Note: The exact steps for opening downloaded HTML files may vary depending on your device and browser.

AutoTick's Answer Portal generator may not download correctly if you use your handphone to search for AutoTick.com on Google and open the website using Google's in-app browser or certain other in-app browsers.

If using handphone and for the best experience, open AutoTick directly in Microsoft Edge or Chrome before logging in.

5. Is an internet connection required?

An internet connection is required to log in to AutoTick and generate an Answer Portal.

After downloading the Answer Portal, students can complete the test offline, provided the HTML file has been downloaded successfully and the device can open it in a compatible browser.

6. How do I create an Answer Portal?

After logging in to your AutoTick account:

1. Enter your test title.

2. Set a marking passcode.

3. Select the number of questions.

4. Enter the correct answer for each question.

5. Click Generate & Download Answer Sheet (.html).

Your Answer Portal will be generated and downloaded.

On iPhone or iPad, Safari may ask you to confirm the download by tapping Download.

7. How many questions can I include?

You can generate an Answer Portal containing 1 to 60 questions.

Simply select the number of questions you need when creating your test.

8. What are credits?

Credits are used to generate Answer Portals.

1 credit = 1 generated Answer Portal.

Every new account receives 5 free credits to try AutoTick.

9. Do I need to subscribe?

No. AutoTick does not require a monthly subscription.

New users receive 5 free credits. When you need more, you can purchase additional credits through your account dashboard.

10. Can I reuse a generated Answer Portal?

Yes. Once downloaded, you can keep your generated Answer Portal and reuse it as many times as you need.

You do not need to generate another portal each time you want to use the same test.

11. Can I change the Answer Portal after generating it?

The generated Answer Portal uses the test title, marking passcode and answer key entered during generation.

If you need to change the answer key or other test details, you can generate a new Answer Portal using the updated information.

12. Can students complete the test on their phones?

Yes. Students can complete an AutoTick Answer Portal on a compatible smartphone or tablet.

For iPhone and iPad users, we recommend opening the downloaded Answer Portal in Microsoft Edge before starting the test.

Android users can try Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, depending on their device's support for opening downloaded HTML files.

Students can also complete tests on Windows or Mac computers using a compatible web browser.

13. Can I save or print the test results?

Yes. After students complete the test and enter the correct marking passcode, AutoTick displays their results, including their scores and percentage.

The results can be printed or saved as a PDF using the device's available printing or PDF-saving options.

14. Do I need to generate a new Answer Portal for every student?

No. You can reuse the same generated Answer Portal for multiple students taking the same test.

Each student should enter their own name, class and answers when completing the test. They can then save or submit their completed test according to your instructions.
